Jumbo Rocks is the largest campground in Joshua Tree National Park, with 124 first-come, first-served sites. This campground is located along the eastern portion of Park Boulevard, which offers a fantastic central location for exploring all parts of the park. Skull rock trail originates in this campground, and other nearby hikes include split rock, ryan mountain, and pine city.

Jumbo Rocks campground offers a mix of splendid rocky and open desert campsites. Generally, the sites on the northern side of the road are nestled into the rocks while the sites on the southern side of the road are more open. No matter where you stay, there is plenty of rock scrambling and exploration to be done just within the campground.

Each site has a concrete picnic table, fire pit, and grill. Pit toilets, garbage, and recycling are dotted throughout the campground. There is also a centrally located amphitheater which offers free evening ranger programs on Friday and Saturday nights. Each campsite is $10 per night, so please self-register at the kiosk located at the entrance to the campground.

This is one of Joshua Tree's most popular campgrounds, and is very family-friendly. Make sure to arrive early on weekends and holidays to secure your campsite. If the campground is full, check out nearby Belle or White Tank campgrounds to the east.

First-Come First-Served
